Why Nesto - why now?

At Nesto, we combine technology with a real-world problem from everyday work life. Our cloud-based solution makes workforce planning smart and tailored to needs, helping companies in the restaurant and hospitality industries plan their teams more efficiently. We work with brands such as McDonald’s, L’Osteria, and Lagardère, among others.
What drives us is the combination of technology, real customer value, and the commitment to continuously improve.
We work transparently, take responsibility, and support one another. At Nesto, you can contribute your ideas, help shape decisions, and work with us on a solution that’s already making a difference today—and has a lot more to offer.

Your responsibilities at Nesto

  • You design and build: You create intuitive, polished experiences for our software products.
  • You turn ideas into working UI: You move from product concepts to high-quality, production-ready interfaces.
  • You build with AI: You use AI to explore, prototype, implement, test and improve frontend work. You review every output critically.
  • You work across disciplines: You partner with Product, Design and Engineering. You resolve interaction details and implementation trade-offs together.
  • You create reusable foundations: You build UI components and help evolve our design system.
  • You learn from users: You bring prototypes and shipped experiences into user conversations. You use feedback to improve usability.
  • You raise the quality bar: You improve consistency, accessibility, performance and the details that make software feel reliable.

Your background that sets you apart

You combine product judgement with the ability to create and improve real software.

What will help you succeed

  • You are curious: You enjoy learning, trying new tools and finding better ways to solve problems.
  • You like building with AI: You use AI with care and judgement. You are excited by what it makes possible.
  • You take ownership: You move work forward, ask hard questions and communicate openly.
  • You work as a team: You share context, invite challenge and help others succeed.

Your experience

  • You have designed and built real software products: You can show experiences you personally shaped in design and code.
  • You have strong frontend skills: You can independently build and improve component-based interfaces.
  • You have worked in an AI-native development process: You use AI to move from idea to implementation. You refine its output instead of accepting a first draft.
  • You know the craft: You have a strong eye for UI, interaction, hierarchy, states and micro-interactions.
  • You build for quality: You care about accessibility, usability, code quality and maintainable systems.
  • You work well with others: You communicate clearly with Product, Design and Engineering. You make practical decisions together.
  • You are fluent in English: Fluent English communication skills are required.

Nice to have

  • You have experience with VueJS: You can apply it in a component-based product environment.
  • You have worked on complex B2B products: Experience with operational workflows, roles or permissions is valuable.
  • You have contributed to a design system: You understand shared components and patterns.
  • You are interested in hospitality: Restaurants, workforce operations or frontline software interest you.

We are successful in the first year if we have…

  • A Design Engineer who independently turns product concepts into production-ready interfaces.
  • Faster learning through working prototypes and AI-assisted frontend experimentation.
  • More consistent and reusable UI foundations across the product.
  • Shipped interface improvements that address user feedback from restaurant operations.
  • Stronger collaboration between Product, Design and Engineering on interaction quality and implementation details.

What this role is NOT

  • A role focused only on static design files.
  • A pure frontend implementation role without product and interaction-design input.
  • A role where AI-generated output is accepted without critical review.

You’re in the right place if...

  • You want to shape outcomes: You want to improve the experience of restaurant and shift managers, not only execute predefined tasks.
  • You care about the details: You believe thoughtful interaction and strong usability make a material difference.
  • You use AI thoughtfully: You see AI as a way to improve your work, not avoid responsibility for it.
  • You value collaboration: You enjoy solving real customer problems with Product, Design and Engineering.
  • You want to keep growing: You are open to learning and improving your practice.
